Pretty Little Liars!

Hi there!

I wanted to post this mani for the Pretty Little Liars premiere but I never got a chance to do it. I was just too excited for PLL and I was running a flash giveaway on our page. That was really fun! Did you watch the premier? It was so good wasn't it?!?! I am really LOVING this season so far!

I wanted to do a super fun and awesome nail art mani but time just did not allow. WHY can there not be like one extra day in the week.... Where no one works or does anything except paint their nails? I think that would be awesome and the world would be a lot happier!

For my PLL nails I decided on something bright and glittery. I wanted a bright pink so I went with Wet n Wild Fergie collection - Fergalicious with an accent nail with silver glitter. I used Wet n Wild Fast Dry- Teasy Peasy.

I know I use this hot pink a lot. It's my favorite go to hot pink. I just love it. I was really surprised how well the glitter covered. I used 2 coats but it covered well with just one.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Nail party

So a few days ago I went to my parents house for two days. They live only 20 minutes away, but its nice to get away from responsibility and just spend time with my babies. We live in an apartment and my parents live in the country sort of, so lots more space for the kids to play!

While there I got the urge to do nails. My moms best friend lives with her and is a nail tech and she kept saying we should have a nail party, so we did!

(My mom, Debbie on the left. Felicia, her best friend on the right.)

Felicia, my moms friend, did my moms fingers and I did my moms toes. Well Felicia did the nail art, I just painted them. I also did my own nails twice. I didn't like them the first time so I tried something else and ended up not liking that either and liking what I had originally done after all.

(Moms fingers and toes. Those are little dragon flies and gems :D)

It was actually pretty funny though because after my mom had her nails done she went to bed and Felicia and I were sitting there talking about freaky stuff that has happened to us living in my parents house. As we were talking about it I was doing my nails. Halfway thru, we were talking about the time one of my pictures flew off the wall and then the picture right behind me fell off the wall. Felicia and I both screamed bloody murder and bolted upstairs! Come to find out there was a dinky, bent nail on the wall holding it up barely. We turned on the fan and that's why it fell. Still scared us shitless! Lol So being frazzled, sleepy, and no longer in the mood to paint my nails they turned out like crap. Lol this was the second one I mentioned. So yea, after that I was looking at pics of the first mani and I was like man, I should have kept that on! Haha oh well.

For the first mani I used two colors by Urban Outfitters that Panacea sent to me for my birthday. I'm not really in to milky colors, but I really like this one. The milky color is called Bright Lights. The accent nail is Scorcher.

(First mani)

(Second mani)

For the second mani I used Sinful Shines Devious. I really love this color a lot. It has a patent leather looking finish and its gorgeous. On top I used Juleps Carly. This blue is so gorgeous! I was going for a fade and then full glitter on the accent nail, but this was the part I did after almost peeing myself. Haha so I screwed it up.
I hope that you guys enjoyed my post! Have a great week! xoLeah

Destiny & Miranda

Hi there :)

Leah and I are in a nail polish group called Adopt a Friend on Facebook. I am loving it so far! I have met so many amazing  people. My May buddy and I actually live in the same state, just kind of far away from each other, which is cool!

When I opened her package I was so in shock I was so excited!! It was amazing.

I couldn't wait to try those Zoya Pixie Dusts! Orange is my favorite color so when I saw that Zoya had 2 oranges in their Summer Collection I was so excited! I HAD to have them! The one in this package is my favorite!! I didn't think I would care for the pink pixie but I saw a swatch and I really liked it and all the Ulta's near me that I checked were out of that one. Yayy I am so happy I got it!

I love love love these two colors together. Perfect. I am such a fan of the pixies! I love love love the pixies!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Cosmic Dust

Hi there :)

Around mid- May , Ulta was having a sale. Buy 2 get 1free on Zoya, China Glaze, Piggy Polish and Orly. They had the China Glaze Hologram Holographic collection included in the sale and I also had a coupon for 20% off my total order. I’ve become totally obsessed with holographics lately so I was pretty excited to try the new collection.

One of the colors I chose was Cosmic Dust. It’s a grey/silver base holographic. Putting this polish on, instantly I was pretty disappointed. The coverage was eh. I could not get it to go on nicely. It was super thick, it kept clumping up and tugging the polish with every stroke. It made my peely nails look SO bad. And the holographic left a little something to be desired.  Anytime I use China Glaze anymore I become less and less a fan. Their polishes barely last for me. By the time I had washed my hands after using the bathroom for the first time, it was already chipping.  Looking back if I was going to spend the 14$ on a holographic nail polish I wish I would have spent my money on a nailnation polish because the holographics are ridiculous amazing, AND the polish lasts FOR-EV-ER!

At least I had a coupon, Right!

Here are some pictures. I'm sorry that my nails look so terrble!

Have you tried the new Holographic collection? What did you think, if you have?

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Stormy Dots

You are probably wondering why I called this mani Stormy Dots. Well the dots part is obvious, but let me show you what I got interrupted with while doing this mani....

I could see the dark clouds rolling in and I could hear lots of thunder in the distance. So I stopped to admire the clouds. (I have a thing for clouds) While standing there watching out my balcony window my phone starts making a noise i've never heard before. We had a tornado warning! What?! I have an app on my phone and it didnt even tell me that we had a severe thunderstorm watch or warning. So it came out of nowhere! I was like omg! My kids were sleeping, my hubby was sleeping. He had his computer on, he was using his external hard drive trying to export a dance recital he filmed and edited. He has a videography business. Broken Glass Media

So, I flip on the TV and am looking for the local news to cut through to report this tornado warning happening, I find nothing. I was so confused. I look outside, by this time, the storm was moving so fast that it was already over us so I wasn't too worried anymore. Well, about 10-15 minutes from where I live, there was some REAL bad weather happening. A possible tornado touchdown, HUGE amounts of hail, like it was covering peoples yards like snow, tons of rain, high winds, trees knocked over, power outages. We had bad rain, a few drops of hail, and some non-stop thunder with a few flicks of lightning. We were lucky. The news did eventually kick in, they were being slow. They never reported a confirmed touchdown, but a friend of my sisters took a pic of a tornado in the distance touching down. She said it was small and didnt last long thankfully. Fifteen minutes later this is what it looked like over my apartment.

It kept doing that on and off all day. Dark scary clouds rolled in, then it was bright and sunny! There was even one point where it was pouring buckets and the sun was shining so bright I could barely look outside! It was ridiculous weather, but anyone who lives in Michigan knows this is somewhat normal. lol

So anywaaaaays.... Nails. haha Sorry! XD

Ok, so Panacea and I have mentioned this a few times at least, but we're in a Adopt a Friend group in Facebook where you sign up, receive a nail mail buddy, then you exchange nail related items. You get a new friend each month, its super fun! Anyway, I had on my wishlist that I wanted some of the Klean Colors Metallic's. My May buddy sent me some!! I was so excited!

I kept seeing some really cool manis with a matte finish, and I have really been wanting to do one. Someone had told me that these stamped really well so I thought I would try it with a matte black underneath. Well I don't have a matte black, so I decided to use my Julep Matte Top Coat over my black polish, Wet n Wild's Ebony Hates Chris. Turned out pretty good. I love the matte look, especially on black!

I forgot to take a pic with the matte on, but you can see how shiny it is by itself and then see how well the matte top coat worked after. Good stuff!

I went to try to stamp it, tried a few different designs and it just wouldn't work. I don't know why, maybe it was because I had the fan blowing next to me that it was drying to fast... but I gave up. So I decided to just use my dotting tool and do polka dots.

I took pics before I got all the extra polish off my fingers. lol So don't mind it please. XD

Here is what I used for my mani! Metallic Green by Klean Colors, Metallic Purple Fuschia, Ebony Loves Chris by Wet n Wild, and Juleps Matte Top Coat.

Here is a pic of my nails with the ring that she sent me with my Metallic Fuschia!

I hope that you guys enjoyed my post and I didn't bore you too much with my story about the storm! lol Have a great week! xoLeah

Purple Polka-dot bikini & Shocked

Hi there :)

I was at Walgreens like a week or two ago and I saw new Fergie colors! Omg!  I am not really much of a fan of Fergie's music, but I seriously LOVE her polish collection. They were buy one at 3.99$ get one 50% off.. I didn’t have a lot of money to spend but I was like I don’t even care I love these!!!! I picked two and I had a few other little things, at the checkout I used my Walgreens card and my total was only like $6.38 and I was like oh…. THESE POLISHES ARE CHEAPER WITH MY CARD??!?!? I felt like I won the nail polish lottery!

One of the colors I picked was Purple Polka-dot Bikini. It’s a gorgeous purple, it reminds me of the crayon Purple Mountains' Majesty. It was kind of hard to pick up the true color on my camera, in a lot of the lighting the pictures were coming out blue.  But thankfully I did get a few good shots!

( ^ That's my boy cat in the background there! ^)

Isn't is so pretty?! I just love it!  This is two coats and if I was just wearing it by itself I would probably go with three.

I decided to use one of the new polishes I got recently from Wal Mart. It's from a brand that is kind of new to me, Salon Perfect. I have a few polishes I bought a while ago but never used because they never replied if they were cruelty free. Leah had messaged them and they replied and yes they are cruelty free! I read that they are actually an off brand to China Glaze but I can't find the article I read. If I find it I will update this post!

The color is called Shocked. Its a blue, pink and purple glitter mix and it actually dries with a grit to it. It reminded me of the Feathers polish from Nails Inc. The blue glitter in this polish is so dope!  In some lights it's almost iridescent blue but in some lights it's just blue matte glitter. Super cool.

I actually really loved how this turned out. I even got a few compliments on it! :D It was a really big pain to get off, but I think mostly because I am out of cotton balls and I only have cotton squares and they suck. Even still , totally worth it!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy!

True Blood

I know its not Tuesday, but OMG OMG OMG!!! TRUE BLOOD IS BACK TOMORROW!!! I am so excited! This is probably my favorite show, this or Shameless. It might be a tie. lol

I wanted to do a mani for the premiere. I had lots of fun doing it and I even did both hands! haha Usually when I do something more than just a simple paint job I only do one hand like that. I loved it so much though that I just had to do it on both hands.

Is anyone else going to be watching the premiere tomorrow? For anyone interested, it starts at 9 on HBO. I don't recommend watching it though if you haven't watched before. You need to watch it all to understand a lot of whats going on. Here is the trailer for season 6.

For my mani, I used the black and white Art Club nail art duo pens in black and white for the writing and fangs. For the blood I used Devious from the new Sinful Shine line. For my ring finger I used the Julep Matte top coat. The red on my pointer and pinky is Taking The Red-Eye by Wet n Wild Megalast. The black is Wet n Wild Fast Dry in Ebony Hates Chris.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and has a great week! xoLeah

WAWA!!

Hi there :)

I love LOVE love love love wawa (Watermelon). Yum. I could eat it forever. Seriously, at work, I eat it out of the fruit salad all day. It is like the best wawa I have had in a LONG time! Wanna know something weird though?! Every time I eat wawa it gives me super WEIRD dreams!

Anyways lolol

I am so loving this texture nail polish craze! At first I didn't know how I felt about it, and I won’t wear it if I am going to work because it does weird things in my gloves and it creeps me out. But I seriously love it!!! It’s so fun to play with and It isn’t really even that hard to remove!!

I was wanting to do something fun and summery and I was like OH! Wawa!! With pixies!!!! So I grabbed all my pixies and picked some colors and got to painting.

I used Julie G Gumdrops Hot Cinnamon for the wawa flesh, Zoya Vespa for the rind and Zoya Dahlia for the seeds.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Mystic

Last thursday, my family and I went on a camping trip up in Caseville, MI. We got the spot right next to the path to the beach. We got to watch the sunset every night, it was beautiful. We watched some storms in the distance too which looked pretty amazing. It was cold most of the days there, but saturday and sunday were perfect weather. We got to swim finally too! The water was actually pretty warm even though it had been cold out for so long.

Before we left to go camping, my toenails and fingers were lookin pretty hideous. On my fingers I had my summer inspired mani for the contest running on our facebook page which you can find out more details on by clicking the link here. It was only done on one hand and was starting to chip pretty bad. The other hand was two totally different colors that I tested out to see if I liked them. lol On my toes I had a color over top of another mani and the color looked terrible on my toes. Made them look nasty! So I told myself, you need to take stuff with you.

I took a few colors with me, and since I was going camping, I didn't want to get too fancy about it. I brought top/base coat and the couple polishes and lotion. Thats it. So don't mind my fingers lookin rough! haha Anyways, one of the colors I brought with me was Mystic by Ruby Wing. I hadn't tried any of the Ruby Wing colors that I have yet, and being they're color changing polishes I figured it would be a great time to do it, while I was mostly outside camping!

                                                                     (Outside Pic)

It was pretty windy when I was doing it, I sat on the picnic table to do it because it was such a nice day. I don't know if it was because the wind or its just quick drying, but the polish was almost drying before I could put it on which made it seem a little tacky. I will have to try it again when I am indoors. I wish I would have thought to take a picture of the way it looked in the bottle outside. It was changing against the glass of the bottle, but when I pulled out the brush it was the other color, it looked so neat.

                                                                       (Inside pic)
(I accidentally smudged my thumb nail right before I took this.)

Both colors were very pretty, after about 2 days they started to chip off, but not by much. Four days later, they're hanging on pretty good, minus the part that I started to pick off a little on one of my thumbs. lol Compared to how polishes normally hold up for me, thats pretty good!

I hope everyone has a great week and that everyone enjoyed this post! xoLeah

Summer Fun!

Hi there! :)

As you know our page right now is having a Summer themed nail art contest! We are so excited to see everyone's ideas! You can check our facebook page here for all of the details!

Here is a picture of my mani I did for inspiration!

On my thumb I did a little beach. I used Wet n Wild Fergie Cabo Cruise for the sky, Zoya Pixie Dust Solange for the sun, Julep Sea Salt Jill for the sand and Julie G gumdrops Blueberry Fizz for the water. On my pointer I tried to  do a beach ball. It turned out ok but I think it looks funny. I used L.A. Colors Energy Source for the base, Zoya Pixie dust Solange for the middle part, Julie G gumdrops Hot Cinnamon, Blueberry Fizz, and Tangerine Dream for the color parts around the beach ball. On my middle finger I used Wet n Wild Fergalicious and put some cute nail art stickers on. I got them at Wal Mart for like $1.98. They are like little girls stickers but they are so cute!! I really couldn't pass them up! I love them! On my ring and my pinkie nails I used Julep Sea Salt Jill for the sand. On my ring finger I used Wet n Wild Fergie Purple Polka-dot Bikini for the flip flops and Wet n Wild Fergie Miami Spirit for the flip flop straps.

I really had SO much fun doing this mani. It didn't even really take a lot of time either which is awesome. I hope you all will enter our contest! The more the merrier!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Idaho Potato & Luxe

Hi there :)

The other day I was looking at pinterest on my tablet while I was waiting for hubby to get out of work. Mostly on my tablet pinterest is a suck. It just shows me the same pictures over and over again so I don't even know why I use it.

Anyways, I was looking at health and beauty because I really love to look at the nail designs and nail art. Some people are so amazing and creative! Well, I saw this one mani. A salmon pink base with a gold tip. How gorgeous, I thought! I couldn't stop thinking about it. When I got home I looked through all my nail polish to see if i had a pink that would do. No... Not one single pink that wasn't super bright or had some kind of glitter/ shimmer to it... No salmon colors either... Then I saw this pinkish brown color I got from Urban Outfitter's on clearance for .99 cents!!!! I didn't think I would ever wear it but for so cheap I couldn't say no!! I'm actually so glad that I did get it now!!

I used these french tip guide thingies from Essence. They are supposed to help make straight tips I think. But they are only as good as YOU are to put them on straight... They are helpful but on my left hand I just did a strip with my brush. You will see I did not place them well and all the tips are still uneven!

I used Orly Luxe for the gold tip. I really have been loving this gold in the bottle and couldn't wait to try it on. I honestly not a huge fan of the Orly's that I have tried and was a little afraid it wasn't going to go on as thick or noticeable as I was wanting, and I really didn't want to do two coats, so I was really happy when I seen how thick and nice it went on!!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Summer!

I am so excited that summer is finally getting here! This last couple days in Michigan have been slightly chilly, but I am just so glad all the snow and low temperatures are gone! We have had some other weather that I am not so excited about. Last week there were 4 tornadoes that were about an hour away from me. Scary stuff!

This weekend my family and I are going camping and I am so excited!!!!! I haven't been camping since before I got married and I have been married for 7 years this september. Thats a long time without camping, especially when my family used to go every summer, multiple times during the year.

So since we are doing this summer themed mani contest, Panacea and I wanted to have some mani pics of our own for inspiration! I also was asked to do a favorite season mani for a polish group I am in. Spring and summer are my favorites, but since I love summer colors better and needed a summer mani, I went with summer for it, that way I could use the same mani for both!

I had lots of fun doing this mani, but right before I did it I was having a really long anxiety attack. So I was still kinda shaky and stuff when I was doing it so its sloppy.

I got to use a bunch of new stuff too!! All of these are new summer polishes I picked up that I haven't got to use yet. I also used some of the nail art design rods I got. I forgot to take a picture though of them, so you can just see them on my nails. lol

Salon Perfect Haute Pink, Claires Flames, Salon Perfect Yowza Yellow,
Ruby Wings Meadow, and Funky Fingers Power Play.

Then for the little details I used these!
Art Club Black, Art Club Purple Rain, Art Club White, and Art Club Neon Pink.

All the colors hung on pretty good except for the Claires polish. It was peeling off the next day. The Ruby Wings is holding up the best! Plus it changes to a purple color in the sun, so thats awesome!!!

Thumb - Summer, pointer - bikini,  middle - martini, ring - fruit, pinky - beach towel.

So since I had an anxiety attack and it was like 1am when I did these, I totally forgot to take progression pics. So at least I remembered to take a final pic! haha I messed up the S and then tried to fix it and made it worse. I didnt want to start over, so yea.... haha

Hope you guys enjoyed my mani! Have a great week everyone! xoLeah
