Moms nails!

A few weeks ago my mom came over to hang out with me and my kids cuz she hadn't seen us in awhile. While she was here I was like "Mom! Let me paint your nails!!" They were so long and mine have been stubby for awhile. She had acrylics put on awhile ago, but they eventually, after lots of fills, became her own nails under the acrylic.

We sat down and she picked out some colors that she liked and started to paint her nails with the base color we wanted to use. I was like mom, I am supposed to be the one painting your nails... lol But I ended up just letting her finish that part. We used Wet n Wild Megalast in Candy-Licious.

After we did that, she really wanted to use Color Club's Wing Fling from the Take Wing collection. I don't blame her, its my favorite from the collection! Side note... If you have a Meijer department store near you, they have the Take Wing collection, also the Halo Hues collection on sale right now!!! Scoop them up!!

On her accent nail, we did the slant with Color Club Harp On It. Also for the lil dots! The white on the nails is Diamond Cosmetics White Nail Art. I used a dotting tool to apply it though because I had just gotten them and wanted to try them! haha

I wish she still had her nails on though, they were so fun to play with. I bought some fake nails to play around with, but I need to find a way to display them when I do some funky stuff on them. They were only a dollar for a pack of like 20 at Dollar General! So I was like why not!

I am really trying to get my nails long right now. I was just introduced to some stuff called Duri Rejuvacote. I have seen before and after pics from the people who recommended it and I am so excited for it!! I have some and been using it, but my nails were already getting really long, but since the stuff didnt really have time to work on them that much they did start to break and one hand is way shorter than the other, so I think I am going to file them down and start over and see how it goes. Here is a pic of what my nails on my left hand look like. I need to get rid of the stains, but otherwise they are looking awesome. They're just SOOOO thin and they chip off easily. So I am really hoping this stuff works wonders for me!! My fingers look terrible, don't mind them. lol

Duri rejuvacote & Nefertiti's Crown

Hi there :)

Like 2 weeks ago, Rachel in a Polish Swap group ( you should join! ) we are in posted a picture of her beautiful long nails. Both Leah and I commented how beautiful and long and just so nice they were ( Not to sound like a weirdo or anything lolol!! ) and how our nails both just are short and peel and break and just kind of suck at life... Kellie said she has been using Duri Rejuvacote and showed us a before and after. OMG I had to try this!! She said it can be found online or Wal Mart. I did some googling to find out if they are cruelty free.. They are!! :DDDD  . So I went to Wal Mart the very next day and got some to try.

I tried it like the next day after I got it. It says you can paint your nails or leave it bare. First I chose a silver holo to wear because it was something I thought I could look at for a week and wouldn't get bored with … Wrong. I was bored with it like as soon as I put it on… Not good.

I was telling hubby my predicament and he said to take it off and redo it. I said Yea, I might as well.  I doubt it will work anyways with my hands being in gloves and stuff all day. So I took him to work and came home and re painted my nails. I was talking to Leah on FB chat and as I was taking off the nail polish I could already tell that the rejuvacote was working!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I WAS SO EXCITED!! Here is what my nails looked like when I started. I started on April 25th (13). I figured since my nails were all damaged and icky, I would just file them down stubby and try and start all over again and see what it could do.

I really love this stuff . It last's and the dry finish is gorgeous. Someone in the group mentioned it looks like a gel finish! I love it!

Have you tried the Duri Rejuvacote? What did you think? I would really so love to see before and after photos!

I wanted to do kind of a neutral color but something that I thought would last, and wouldn't end up getting bored with again. I picked out a few colors but none of them made the cut... Then I noticed the color I had won from Neffy's Nail Corner from NailNation 3000! Nefertiti's Crown.

Nefertitit's Crown is a super gorgeous, brownish/gold base with tons of gem colored glitter. I know Cinderella's gown was blue but as I was putting this on I felt like Cinderella.. Maybe they should make a new Disney Princess based on this gorgeous color!

I only did one coat of the brown because I wasn't sure if two was okay with the rejuvacote. It covered really well with just one and I just love this color. Five days on and I am still loving it! While I am driving I catch it in the sunlight and I'm just like oh! So gorgeous!  I really love it. I must say I really picked a 'winner'!!

My camera really doesn't do this color all the justice it deserves, especially for the glitter!

Here is a picture taken on the 27th, after two full work days AND a whole morning of scrubbing the kitchen.

Impressive huh?? I think yes!

If you haven't checked out NailNation yet, what are you waiting for?!!?

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Metallic fuschia & Quartz of Course

Hi there :)

I wanted to post this last night but I pretty much came home from work and passed out.

I recently heard that Wet n Wild had a new collection and I HAD. TO. HAVE. IT! I read that it was found at rite aid bu we don't have any rite aids within like 100 miles of me. I checked a few CVS's and Walgreen in hope to find it but no luck :(. I did some reaching out in some of the polish groups I am in and asked if anyone would be able to find it for me. A girl got in touch with me and she found it for me and sent it to me!  Omg!!!! Seriously. That was one of the best polish weekends I have ever had!

I got the Wet n Wild Hot Rocks collection, and the JulieG Gumdrops collection and Hubby surprised me with the Kleancolor Metallic collection! I am seriously one lucky girl!!!

On with the polish!!

The Kleancolor metallics & the hot rocks almost match up perfectly. I couldn't decide which I wanted to do first!

After a lot of thinking and looking and comparing, I decided to go with Metallic Fuschia first.

I really loved this purple. I am a big fan of purple nail polish. I just love the way it looks in the bottle and on my nails.

I decided to do Quartz of Course on top. I was thinking of doing the blue one but I stuck with purple/purple. This has purple and silver glitter, the purple looks like it is a foil glitter.

I am a big fan of both of these collections and can't wait to pair the rest of them together.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Amazeballs!

Hey guys, I just feel so terrible. I dunno what my problem is, but I just can't seem to get motivation lately for blogging. I have barely been doing my nails either. I guess I know part of the problem, but doing my nails used to make that better. Maybe I have just gotten to a point where nothing can make it better? I dunno, but I don't want to bring anyone down with my problems, just trying to kinda let you guys know why I haven't been active much lately. I feel like a real a-hole for it too. I am so sorry, I am going to try harder this week! I hope you guys can forgive me!

SO ANYWAYS.................

So on my birthday, I was sitting at my computer, looking at different indie polish facebook pages and I ended up stopping at Nail Nation's page. If you haven't already been there to see her stuff, check it out! Amazing!

While looking I just kept thinking how much I wanted some of her polishes, and at the time I didn't have the money to buy any. I don't have a lot of indie polishes and I have been really wanting to try some Nail Nation polishes. Since it was my birthday I thought, maybe I will buy some if I get money for my birthday. I left her a comment telling her how much I loved her polishes and how awesome they were. I have the owners personal page on my friends list so she knew it was my birthday and she told me to pick one out as a gift! She sent me lots of goodies too! It was very exciting! Totally made my day!

Thats one of the nice things about getting to know all the lovely ladies in the nail polish community! Lots of generous ladies out there!

Here is the mani I decided to do with the polishes she sent me!!

Look at that shine!! Gorgeous! This is the one I picked out for my birthday. It's called Amazeballs! I just love that name too.

Decided to use this gorgeous blue with it that she sent! Love it! The blue is called Wow-a-doodle. Wow indeed!

Next I used my new dotting tools that I got and some new nail art white that I got for my birthday from a new friend. So many NEW things!! lol The white is by Kiss.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post, have a great week!! xoLeah

Glowstick and Fruity Pebbles

Hi there :)

I love cereal. I could probly eat cereal for every meal. One of my favorite kinds of cereal to eat is Fruity Pebbles! nom nom nom.

A few weeks ago, A Girl Obsessed released a special limited edition nail polish named Fruity Pebbles. It was limited edition because the glitter in it is unstable. In this picture the glitters are really super bright. When I received it, it was not as super bright and you could tell the glitters were starting to break up, but I still really love it so much! I've really needed something really bright and funky to bring me out of my sicky funk I've been in, and something to celebrate the amazing weather we are having. Every time I look at my nail polish lately my eyes are drawn to this polish.

I knew I had to wear an awesome super bright color under but I didn't know if I wanted yellow, pink or green. I decided on neon green. I chose Glowstick from the Fergie Collection by Wet n Wild. It was such a perfect color. I'd really love to check it out with some other neon funkys!

Here is 2 coats of Fruity Pebbles over Glowstick.

I really loved these two together! I can't wait to try more color combos!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Hot Orange/pink & Chunky Holo Candy

Hi there :)

A few weeks ago hubby and I had to go out to the mall... I really hate going to the mall but I figured if I had to be there I was going to check out the nail polish! So it was kind of a win for me lolol

I've posted before about the brand BLACKHEART from Hot Topic. I am a huge fan! I love the stackers and I love most of the regular colors and I absolutely LOVE the bottle shape and that they are cruelty free!

I bought this color on clearance. It doesn't have a name and I thought it was like a hot pink but when you put it on its like a mix between orange and pink, and when its in certain light its like HOT, BRIGHT orange. It is really awesome.

                                                                How Funky!!

I topped it off with Kleancolor Chunky Holo Candy. I really really really really love Kleancolor. There are no stores around me that sell it that I've seen. My Hubby actually bought me the chunky holo set off ebay for like 16$ free shipping! There are tons of colors to choose from. I've been having a lot of fun with them. :D

It's really subtle. I was expecting a teeny bit more bling but I was pretty happy with this still!

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy!

Spring is here!

Ok, so the day of my surprise birthday party, my hubby took me to the mall after our movie to kill time so that people could set up stuff. When we were there, I told my husband that I wanted to go to Claire's to check out what kinds of polish they had because I had heard that they were cruelty free. I got in there and they were having a sale!! They had buy one get one half off, plus they had clearance stuff! So I ended up getting my first glow in the dark polish, a really cool neon orange that dries in like seconds and is awesome, and then I got this pack of cute pastel spring colors!

On the actual day of my birthday, I was like omg, my nails are naked! I gotta at least have something on them for my birthday!! So I decided to try out some of my new stuff. I also had some nail stickers that I wanted to try out!

The polish I think is kinda cheap, but once you put a good top coat on it looks really nice. I loved the colors and thought they went together very nicely. This polish is good for about one night of wear before it starts to peel. Then again, I am an ocd hand washer, so that might have something to do with it, especially since I don't really use a nail oil. I really need to try some.

In these pics, they look a lot brighter than they are. They were very light and springy. So I took some pics with the flash and some without.

After I decided they looked too plain and I tried to do some stamping on them, but it wasn't showing up very well with the color I wanted to use on them, so I decided to just try some stickers I have been wanting to try. I used these Kiss brand stickers.

I forgot to take an actual pic of the ones I have, so I just found this one on Kiss' website. I used the first sheet with the bright colors. These stickers were nice, but there was something about them I didn't like. I think it might be because it was the first time I used some like this. The other ones I've used before are almost 3D and you couldn't see thru them. They made my manicure look kinda cheap too. I think the design would be cuter on longer nails, or on a little girl personally. They were fun though, just not right for the mani I did!

Without Flash

With Flash

I loved the colors by themselves!!

This is what the package looked like. I don't think they had names on them.

Hope you guys enjoyed my post, sorry it was kinda a downer. I just want to be real with you guys about polishes and products! :D Sorry that I haven't been posting much lately too. I have just been dealing with some personal things lately, feeling a lil down, and then having a bunch of problems trying to get on Blogger, plus getting my pics that I needed off my old computer. My husband is a nerd and likes things to be done a certain way when it comes to his electronics, so I had to wait for him to help me do some stuff. Hopefully I can stay on track now! Have a great week everyone!

Blue Heaven & Autism Awareness

Hi there :)

I wanted to do some really awesome nail art for Autism Awareness month, and I might still if I have time but I did get to at least paint my nails blue FOR Autism Awareness!

I chose the really gorgeous Blue Heaven holographic from Color Club Halo Hues collection. This is such a gorgeous blue.

The lighting in my house makes this look almost green which is disappointing but the pictures in the sunlight are amazing and to die for !

The holographic in this polish is seriously amazing. I just recently have a new appreciation and fascination with holographic's.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Nail Art Challenge

Hi there :)

For Easter I did my very first Nail Art Challenge. I had SO much FUN doing this. I am not the most awesome drawer or nail artist but I really did have a great time with the designs and coming up with them! Have you ever done any nail art challenges or maybe even this one? Leah and I just joined a group for nail art contests. I am really looking forward to doing more!

The first day's challenge was grass/flowers- I used LA Colors Energy source as a white base with zoya Blu over it for sky. For the grass I used LA Colors Brites Kryptonite & a green polish that I made. For the Sun I used Wet n Wild The Wonder Yellows, For the Bunny I used LA Colors Energy Source with Wet n Wild Black Crémé for the eyes and LynBDesigns Eggs in a basket for the nose, For the flower I used Wet n Wild Fergie Collection Dana and for the middle I used LynBDesigns Eggs in a basket and for the stems I used the green that I made. For the Easter eggs I used LynBDesigns Eggs in a basket ( I seriously love this color!! ) and I used some flower nail gems.
I was really so pleased with this mani! I was so proud of myself!

The second day's challenge was bunnies! I didn't want to do the same kind of bunnies I kept seeing online so I thought who do peeps! I used LynBdesigns Flutter Byes as the base color. For the first bunny I used LA Colors Energy Source for the fur, Wet n Wild Black creme for the eyes and Sally Hanson nail art pen in pink for the nose & Whiskers. For the Carrots I used Wet n Wild 9.0.2.1. Orange and a green nail polish that I made. For the peeps I used The Sally Hanson art pen in pink with Wet n Wild Black Creme for the eyes. I was really mad when I put on my top coat and the bunnies all turned into zombies. I waited for at least 15 minutes before I put it on and I really don't think those tiny little black dots should have smeared !

Day three challenge was Easter Eggs. I used LA Colors Energy Source as the base for all the nails except for the pink which I used LynBDesigns Eggs in a basket. The Thumb I used Zoya Breezi with  glitter on top by Glitter me This. On the pointer finger I used Zoya Julie with LynBDesigns Eggs in a basket. For 'Happy Easter' I used butter LONDON Squatter, For my ring finger I used Zoya Pilaf, Julie and Neely and on my pinkie I used LynBDesigns Eggs in a basket.

The fourth day was Chickies. I used Milani Texture in Yellow Mark. I really loved this texture polish. I used LA Colors Energy Source for the egg shells, Color Club Sparkle & Soar for the beak and Wet n Wild Black Creme for the eyes and little hairs

The fifth and final day of the Challenge was Pastels. I used Zoya Neely, LynBDesigns Eggs in a basket, LA Colors Energy Source, Zoya Pilaf, LynBDesigns Flutter Byes.

Again I had A ton of fun doing this challenge and can't wait to participate in more!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy!
