Julep Erin

Hi there!

I am sure that you've all heard about Juleps bad publicity going on, so I wanted to share some good ones! A long while ago, when I first go into nail polish again I had seen ad add online for Juleps free first box. I was really curious so I tried it. I didn't love the colors I had gotten in my first box, so I was considering canceling. I had ended up forgetting to do so, but I got a free box anyhow for people using my code. I really enjoyed that box, so I stuck with the maven for a little bit. After a little while I just was skipping boxes only because I did not have the money at the time for the 21$ subscription. I had ordered during their promos and mystery boxes and such. I never had any issues with Julep! I always loved my boxes, and even my mystery boxes! I for some reason really LOVED the September box. I love love love the colors that were in my box.. I don't have enough greys in my collection, and the red is just such a gorgeous fall red. I also love red nail polish :D. I had just gotten some jules for my birthday, and I have heard that the mavens were not going to be able to skip all the months they wanted anymore, so I wanted to use up all my jules.

Today I want to show you Erin from the September Boho Glam Julep Maven box. It is a super pretty light grey ( gray? ) crémé nail polish. I goes on super smooth and is great with just two coats.

Here it is with two coats and no top coat. (over one coat of ridge filler)

I really loved this color. It will probly be one of my favorite fall colors, and definitely my favorite grey!

Of course I had to put glitter on top! Here it is with a coat of inm Northern Lights ( I don't know if this item is cruelty free, but I received it in an adopt a friend package and I love it so much! So I really hope it is!)

I edited the contrast a little to show off the sparkle a little better.

What do you think? Do you like it? I am an even bigger fan with the glitter over it! The only thing I noticed was that it was chipping by the next morning, but I think it was the ridge filler I was using because it was happening with a few other polishes I had worn too.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

*waves* Long time, no blog!

Hi there!

Hope you all are well. I've missed you all, and blogging so very much! Thank you for sticking by us while we figured out our personal lives. It really means a lot to us. I lost my way a bit in February, and I've just recently found my way back.. I did not know how to start this post. I feel so rusty. I wanted to share with you all why I have been absent so much lately. So I hope that I don't lose you before I get to the polishes. I apologize in advance, this will probly be pretty long! The polishes are on the bottom if you want to just skip to them! ;)

In Feb. I had a lot of car trouble. A LOT. I ended up losing my job because of it. I have never been fired from any job in my 10-11 years of working. I was devastated. I felt so useless. And I was so angry! I am still pretty angry with how everything went down. With all the trouble with my car I had to worry how I would get my hubby to work, and how I could get to school. I stopped painting my nails, except for the few colors I had been sent to review. I just had no desire. My parents helped me with my car so at least I was able to get hubby to and from work, and I could finish up my semester. On my very last day of class, I ended up adopting a dog from a lady I used to work with. We named him BOY because it was literally the only thing he answered to lolol. He was a wreck of a dog, and he tried and tested my patience, and seemed to know how to push every single one of my buttons to drive me absolutely crazy! He has taken a lot of work, time, and pateince, but I think we are finally making some progress! yayy!

Fast Forward to June, I was coming home from taking hubby to work, all of a sudden, all the lights on my dash go on, and the car just stops. There, in the middle of traffic.. And it wont start for nothing. I go to grab my phone, and I left my phone at home... Fuck. Great. Fantastic! It was like 830am, I was still in my pajamas, and I looked like a mess. I walked into the first store I saw that was open, and I tried to call my hubby to see if he could get a hold of my friend Amanda to pick me up since we were supposed to hang out that day. She finally finds me and we try to get my car to Auto Zone to have it tested. Nothing is showing up. Everything is fine it says.. ughhhh BRUNO MARS ( my cars name. Because I hate them both so very much!! ) WHY MUST YOU BE LIKE THIS?! We left my car in the Wal-Mart parking lot and she took me home to her house.. We didn't even get to watch Pretty Little Liars!! My car was out of commission for about a week and a half. While all this is going down, my Grandma offered me to come live with her in AZ.. She had offered a few times, but I was in school, and there were a lot of things we had to take care of so I just didn't know if it would work or if it would ever even happen. I mean, I have A LOT of animals, hubby has a job that he LOVES, there were a lot of things that needed to be taken care of. But I was so unhappy. we could not catch a break for anything. Hubby had talked to his boss to see if he could transfer, and it ended up getting him a promotion! Very awesome and exciting! So in a little over 3 weeks, I had to clean, get rid of, and pack 6+ years worth of stuff. That was tough. It took me about a week to pack my nail polish alone!

Aug. 3rd we packed up the truck and headed to Arizona... Since we have been here things have been pretty good. There are still things in IL. that we are taking care of, but we are finally out. I really needed this restart... And I would like to thank you all again for sticking by us while everything was going on in our personal lives. It really truly means the world to us.

So now for some polish! Since I've been here in Az., I have been wanting to blog again and paint my nails regularly. I am even thinking about going and getting my nail technician degree, until I can find a school that offers dietetic technician.

So, I have a few designs that I want to show you today. I have posted a few on my instagram, but not all of them yet!

My natural nails have also been looking really nice! They are not as brittle, peely, and just plain crappy. I still need a ridge filler, but I really am so proud of them. I have been trying to take really good care of them!
Just Kidding!
The first one I want to show you is a fun nail art. I used the first couple colors that I unpacked and some nail tape. The base colors are butter LONDON Silly Billy and Cake-Hole. I placed some nail tape in different ways once those dried, and applied Union Jack Black on top. One of my very favorite blacks!

butter LONDON Silly Billy, Cake-Hole, Union Jack Black

Fun, right?! It was also really super easy! I may try to do a video tutorial some time!

I also used my dotting tools for the first time. On the first day we got here to AZ. Hubby had to run to the store to get a few things, I stayed home to unpack some stuff. When he came home he gave me  three wet n wilds from their new Ferris Wheel Collection. I had been so out of the loop, I did not even know Wet n Wild had a new collection!

I used Wheel Romance as my base color and used my dotting tool and did some little dots with spitfire and chambray showers. Topped with some northern lights for some glitter! I really loved this a lot. Very cute and easy!

And I saved the best for last. This one was my very favorite mani that I have done in a long time. I found an idea for it on pinterest and did my own version of it. I did it for Hubby's bday. We went out to celebrate his bday and our Anniversary, because we didn't really get to do anything for our anniversary last month.

I used Zoya Dovima as my base and, Ulta Holographic on my thumb, Chaos & Crocodiles Color Wheel Chaos on my pointer, OPI In True Stefani Fashion on my middle, Wet n Wild Fergie Mermaid Curves on my ring finger, and OPI Pink Yet Lavender on my pinkie. I then used Julep matter top coat over the glitter! I really loved this. It was so easy and so pretty! I couldn't stop looking at it. I only wish I did glitter on my thumb, and not the holographic.

I really hope that you love all of these! I will be posting about my trip to the Arizona Botanical Gardens next time! It was so cool and so much fun!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy my nail arts!

Tatiana

Hello lovlies!

Todays post is going to be a short one, but I just have to show you this color. Juleps Tatiana!

I got all these from my other best friend, Ariel, for my birthday! I actually have a post coming soon with the Julep scrub. Anyways, I was so excited when I got all these, I don't have enough Juleps. Ariel is just starting to get into polish. She has always just came over and had me do her nails, but now she's been starting to buy her own and right now she's kinda obsessed with Julep. lol I love that she's getting into polish though, not enough of my friends are into it! lol I can't wait to plant these seeds too. We keep having ridiculous weather here, and the last two days we've had frost advisory's. I just want it to be spring already! lol

Its such a pretty copper color. I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but I don't really like Juleps bottles. I wish they were wider or something. They tip over so easy, I almost had a doozy with this one. Anyways, this color goes on so nice. You only really need 1 coat, but 2 is perfect. The color is so shiny and vibrant. I just can't get enough of it.

Julep Tatiana

In case you don't already know, you can get Juleps here. They are about $14, but if you sign up for their maven subscription boxes they're about $11.20.

Hope everyone has a great week and enjoyed my post! xoLeah

Happy Easter 2014

Hello lovlies!

This one is going to be quick. Just wanted to wish you all a early Happy Easter since next Tuesday will be after Easter. I have showed you guys these colors before HERE. The polishes I used are from Claires. Its their Pretty Please collection. I can't seem to find any other names for the polishes on the package. The photos of it are always really hard to capture true colors. They're soft shades, pastel really. They always show up so much brighter in pics. I decided to try some cute lil eggs this time with my Sally Hansen I <3 Nail Art pens. On some of them, it wasn't completely dry before I used the pens, so its kinda lumpy, but otherwise, they worked great once the base was fully dry. They for some reason were being weird for this mani though, they were like fading almost, then the top coat kinda wiped the blue off. I had to reapply. I have never had this problem before, so I dunno what was going on. I finished it off with the matte top coat from Julep.

I think they kinda turned out bad, but I got a lot of compliments on them, so I decided I would share them anyways, plus they took forever, so I might as well share. lol

Hope you guys have a great Easter and enjoy the rest of your week! xoLeah

Don't go chasin' waterfalls!

I thought the song was appropriate for the mani I am going to show you in this post. lol Plus I just love that song, and TLC.

Anyways... so lately I have been looking for inspiration to do my nails because I just don't know what to do with them anymore and I get sick of just painting them and not doing anything cute to them. So I kept seeing lots of different ladies posting waterfall mani's and thought they were so cute and been wanting to try them, so I decided I would. I have been putting them off for awhile because I thought they would be hard to do. They're actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. You can see on my thumb that I was just drawing lines from top to bottom and trying to make them perfect, but then I realized you just have to let the brush flow, like a waterfall.

I am sick of winter and all this snow we have been getting so I decided that I would do some bright summer colors. I used Kate by Julep for my base coat. This is not a very good white to just wear as a solid color, but works good for doing nail art over top of it. Then for the stripes I used the following: Neon Pink nail art duo pen by Art Club, Purple Rain by Art Club, Green Stem by Salon Perfect, Holo Silver nail art duo pen by Art Club, Lilac Hologram by Art Club.

This was my first attempt at doing waterfalls, and honestly I did my thumb first and had to stare at it for awhile and decide if I was going to continue or not. I didn't really like them, but I told myself maybe they'll look better once I do more. Once I did all my nails, but before I put the Lilac Hologram glitter on, I didn't like them and I was going to take it all off and start over with different colors. I thought, maybe it just needs a little sparkle. I added the glitter and LOVED them.

I got a lot of compliments on them so far too and I think they turned out pretty good! Hope you guys enjoyed my post and have a great week! xoLeah

Delaunay & Happy Holidaze

Hi there!!

I hope everyone had a super wonderful Merry Christmas! Hope that you got lots of love and smiles. And of course I hope Santa was good to you and yours! My Holiday weeks have been swamped. I have barely had time to paint my nails or sit down and write blog posts. So sorry for my lack of posting! I am definitely ready for the New Year and the Holidays to be OVER!

Did you have any fun nails for Christmas? I would love to see them! You can post them on our page if you would like!

I didn't have a lot of time but I did want to paint my nails some fun Holiday colors so I chose Delaunay from Julep. This was one of the first colors that I ever had from Julep! I never tried it until the other day. What was I waiting for?!?!?! OMG ! I love this red so much. I love red nail polish almost as much as purple! I can't believe that I waited this long. Its so bright and creamy. Such a dream to apply. Here it is with two coats.

I used a Holiday glitter topper from My-Stash Lacquers. This was so sparkley! I had a hard time capturing all the sparkle! This was a fun topper and very quick, easy, fun and festive! I wish I would have had a little more time but I was really pleased with this!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Melissa

Hi there!

I was looking through my polish collection and I just couldn't decide what color I wanted to do. I looked forever. Finally I looked at my Juleps and I was like hmm... I haven't done a Julep in FOR EV ER so I closed my eyes and picked a color lolol. I chose Melissa!

At first I was really hesitant... I really really didn't think that I was going to like this color. At all.. I was so wrong. It is so very gorgeous! It would be really nice for a wedding, even if you aren't getting married. Also for a job interview! Very elegant!

Here it is with 2 coats!

I've been using a ridge filler and it really makes a huge difference! I am really glad I decided to try it. Without the ridge filler it doesn't look so great.

I really loved this color. I'm glad I decided to give it a try!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Sinderella's Slipper

The other day Pan showed you Welcome to the Ball from Gothic Gala Lacquers and today we want to show you Sinderella's Slipper.  We wanted to do this as a dual post from both of us so that we could both show you this amazing and beautiful glitter topper. The site describes it as: " glitter topper with red holo and red holo hearts, black hex glitter and black hearts as well as copper glitter. ". It is so amazing!!

Panacea and I pretty much feel the same way about this polish. It is seriously so amazing!! I am totally in love with it. It also reminded me of the red queen from Alice in Wonderland.

It goes on very nicely! I was getting a decent amount of each glitter on each stroke. At first I didn't get any hearts when I did the first coat on the fake nail, but the second coat it pulled hearts and they even lined up perfectly. I didn't move them at all! lol

First coat on fake nail.

Second coat on fake nail. I didn't move the hearts at all, they lined up like this on their own! lol

I kinda waited till it was real late to do the swatch on the fake nail, so I didn't get time to do my own nails. The reason I wanted to do it on a fake nail too was because its long. My nails are short right now. So the next day I did my own. I wanted to do something where it showed the polish on different colors, so I just did a whole mani with different colors and I loved all of them! I used Ebony Hates Chris by Wet N Wild for the black, then used Kate by Julep for the white, lastly for the red, I used Taking The Red Eye by Wet n Wild Megalast. All three colors matched the glitter and looked great together with Sinderella's Slipper. As Panacea mentioned below, there is even a hint of copper in it, which is different, but I love it!

These were taken inside with my light.

I had a heart on one of my nails that kept hooking on everything, but if you put enough top coat on it, you can usually get that to not be a problem. I noticed that Pan also mentioned about the hearts not laying flat, I too am also cool with that because this polish is so awesome!  lol

Please ignore my dry skin and bad cuticles.

It sparkles so pretty too, I really should have taken a video of it and posted it in here also. I hate how most glitters you have to dig around for a variety of glitters to be equally spread, not with this one at all. It went on very evenly. The hearts were a lil sparse, but thats not an issue for me, makes it unique to each nail. The bottles are really cute and really nice too. Made it easier for me to put it on.

For those of you who haven't heard of this brand yet, its probably because she's fairly new! She just launched her new line in August. She has a bunch already planned too and they're very pretty!! Gothic Gala Lacquer is the name, run by Samantha. She's very nice too! I can't wait to try more of her polishes!

You can shop Gothic Gala Lacquer here!
You can visit her FB page here!

Hope you enjoyed my portion of this dual post! Here is Panacea's portion now! xoLeah

I don't even really know how to begin how to tell you all how much I LOVE this nail polish. It was such a fun polish. It is perfect for Halloween, it would also be really great for Valentines day! It reminded me of the Queen from Alice in Wonderland. Its not news to anyone that I love hearts. It made me happy to see them. I know they don't generally lay flat but I dun even care lolol. I love heart glitter. I seriously loved this polish so hard. I took the polish off my toes and repainted them red so I could wear this glitter on top! Since it's still warm I am wearing flip flops out and about and I see people checkin my toes out. Holler. I know its because of the polish cuz I have been wearing flip flops all summer and have never seen so many people check my feet out!

It is super versatile. It wasn't even really that hard to get off.. Here is a picture of the glitter by itself with two coats and one coat of topcoat.

Here it is with colors that match the colors of the glitter in the polish. I used Zoya Gia, Wet n Wild black crémé, and Wet n Wild blank canvas. I like how it looks with these colors.

I wanted to show you with other versatile colors. Some I think would be great for Halloween and Valentines Day. When I showed my friend Morgan the brown she was like brown for Valentines Day? Yea! It kind of looks like chocolate hearts. I dunno. I think it looks really nice. I also really love it over the orange. I really loved this set of colors with the glitter!

This one is super blurry but you can really see the sparkle!

Thanks so much for checking out our post, sorry it was so long, but since we had both gotten it to review, we decided we would do it together! Have a great week everyone! xoLeah & Pan
