Don't go chasin' waterfalls!

I thought the song was appropriate for the mani I am going to show you in this post. lol Plus I just love that song, and TLC.

Anyways... so lately I have been looking for inspiration to do my nails because I just don't know what to do with them anymore and I get sick of just painting them and not doing anything cute to them. So I kept seeing lots of different ladies posting waterfall mani's and thought they were so cute and been wanting to try them, so I decided I would. I have been putting them off for awhile because I thought they would be hard to do. They're actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. You can see on my thumb that I was just drawing lines from top to bottom and trying to make them perfect, but then I realized you just have to let the brush flow, like a waterfall.

I am sick of winter and all this snow we have been getting so I decided that I would do some bright summer colors. I used Kate by Julep for my base coat. This is not a very good white to just wear as a solid color, but works good for doing nail art over top of it. Then for the stripes I used the following: Neon Pink nail art duo pen by Art Club, Purple Rain by Art Club, Green Stem by Salon Perfect, Holo Silver nail art duo pen by Art Club, Lilac Hologram by Art Club.

This was my first attempt at doing waterfalls, and honestly I did my thumb first and had to stare at it for awhile and decide if I was going to continue or not. I didn't really like them, but I told myself maybe they'll look better once I do more. Once I did all my nails, but before I put the Lilac Hologram glitter on, I didn't like them and I was going to take it all off and start over with different colors. I thought, maybe it just needs a little sparkle. I added the glitter and LOVED them.

I got a lot of compliments on them so far too and I think they turned out pretty good! Hope you guys enjoyed my post and have a great week! xoLeah

Sinderella's Slipper

The other day Pan showed you Welcome to the Ball from Gothic Gala Lacquers and today we want to show you Sinderella's Slipper.  We wanted to do this as a dual post from both of us so that we could both show you this amazing and beautiful glitter topper. The site describes it as: " glitter topper with red holo and red holo hearts, black hex glitter and black hearts as well as copper glitter. ". It is so amazing!!

Panacea and I pretty much feel the same way about this polish. It is seriously so amazing!! I am totally in love with it. It also reminded me of the red queen from Alice in Wonderland.

It goes on very nicely! I was getting a decent amount of each glitter on each stroke. At first I didn't get any hearts when I did the first coat on the fake nail, but the second coat it pulled hearts and they even lined up perfectly. I didn't move them at all! lol

First coat on fake nail.

Second coat on fake nail. I didn't move the hearts at all, they lined up like this on their own! lol

I kinda waited till it was real late to do the swatch on the fake nail, so I didn't get time to do my own nails. The reason I wanted to do it on a fake nail too was because its long. My nails are short right now. So the next day I did my own. I wanted to do something where it showed the polish on different colors, so I just did a whole mani with different colors and I loved all of them! I used Ebony Hates Chris by Wet N Wild for the black, then used Kate by Julep for the white, lastly for the red, I used Taking The Red Eye by Wet n Wild Megalast. All three colors matched the glitter and looked great together with Sinderella's Slipper. As Panacea mentioned below, there is even a hint of copper in it, which is different, but I love it!

These were taken inside with my light.

I had a heart on one of my nails that kept hooking on everything, but if you put enough top coat on it, you can usually get that to not be a problem. I noticed that Pan also mentioned about the hearts not laying flat, I too am also cool with that because this polish is so awesome!  lol

Please ignore my dry skin and bad cuticles.

It sparkles so pretty too, I really should have taken a video of it and posted it in here also. I hate how most glitters you have to dig around for a variety of glitters to be equally spread, not with this one at all. It went on very evenly. The hearts were a lil sparse, but thats not an issue for me, makes it unique to each nail. The bottles are really cute and really nice too. Made it easier for me to put it on.

For those of you who haven't heard of this brand yet, its probably because she's fairly new! She just launched her new line in August. She has a bunch already planned too and they're very pretty!! Gothic Gala Lacquer is the name, run by Samantha. She's very nice too! I can't wait to try more of her polishes!

You can shop Gothic Gala Lacquer here!
You can visit her FB page here!

Hope you enjoyed my portion of this dual post! Here is Panacea's portion now! xoLeah

I don't even really know how to begin how to tell you all how much I LOVE this nail polish. It was such a fun polish. It is perfect for Halloween, it would also be really great for Valentines day! It reminded me of the Queen from Alice in Wonderland. Its not news to anyone that I love hearts. It made me happy to see them. I know they don't generally lay flat but I dun even care lolol. I love heart glitter. I seriously loved this polish so hard. I took the polish off my toes and repainted them red so I could wear this glitter on top! Since it's still warm I am wearing flip flops out and about and I see people checkin my toes out. Holler. I know its because of the polish cuz I have been wearing flip flops all summer and have never seen so many people check my feet out!

It is super versatile. It wasn't even really that hard to get off.. Here is a picture of the glitter by itself with two coats and one coat of topcoat.

Here it is with colors that match the colors of the glitter in the polish. I used Zoya Gia, Wet n Wild black crémé, and Wet n Wild blank canvas. I like how it looks with these colors.

I wanted to show you with other versatile colors. Some I think would be great for Halloween and Valentines Day. When I showed my friend Morgan the brown she was like brown for Valentines Day? Yea! It kind of looks like chocolate hearts. I dunno. I think it looks really nice. I also really love it over the orange. I really loved this set of colors with the glitter!

This one is super blurry but you can really see the sparkle!

Thanks so much for checking out our post, sorry it was so long, but since we had both gotten it to review, we decided we would do it together! Have a great week everyone! xoLeah & Pan

Happy Independence Day!!

Sunday night I didn't want my kids, they were at my parents for the night. I decided I wanted to do something fun for the 4th. Lots of the stuff I wanted to try wasn't really working out that well, so I just kinda gave up and went with the flow. lol

For the base color I used Kate by Julep. This is a nice white, its hard to find good white polishes which I am sure many of you already know. I really should do a comparison with the whites that I have... Anyways, for the red, I used Devious by Sinful Shine. There is two blues used. The glittery blue is Carly by Julep. This is probably my favorite blue glitter. Love this stuff!! The second blue is more holographic, its Wow-A-Doodle by Nail Nation. Her polishes are so awesome! The glitter on my ring finger is Light It Up by Julie G. And finally, the two stars on my pointer finger on my left hand, I used stars from Hollywood Walk Of Fame by Fergie by Wet n Wild. My original plan was to use stars like that throughout the whole many, but the polish, even though it was completely dry, suddenly was taking over the stars because of the glue I put down to hold the stars. So I ended up going with the gems.

I was going to do fireworks like my thumb on my left hand for the entire mani, from the get go, but when that took so long to do, I said forget it because it was already getting late. My brush that I was using was the wrong brush and was derpin it. lol My back was hurting so I was being too lazy to get up and get my other brush. haha

I wanted to change it up on my right hand cuz I wasn't really feeling the left hand. I keep thinking of Texas now for some reason though.

I decided to do my toes too and I think they look real cute! I mean my feed look gross, but I love this fuschia with these gems. I used Metallic Fuschia by Klean Colors. I know it doesn't go with my mani, but I just can't get over how gorgeous this fuschia is!

(Don't mind my dry skin and ugly toes. lol)

For the 4th, we're probably going to go swimming with our kids, then head down to the fireworks early and have a lil bbq with some of my family. This will be Elijah's first year going, so I am excited to see how he reacts. Zeke loves the fireworks! We didn't take Elijah last year because he was only 7 months old and it was like high 90's, super humid, and just miserable out. Saginaw's fireworks keep getting better, year after year. So I am excited to see how good they are this year!

What are some family traditions that you and your family have for Independence Day?

Hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday! Have a great week! xoLeah
