*waves* Long time, no blog!

Hi there!

Hope you all are well. I've missed you all, and blogging so very much! Thank you for sticking by us while we figured out our personal lives. It really means a lot to us. I lost my way a bit in February, and I've just recently found my way back.. I did not know how to start this post. I feel so rusty. I wanted to share with you all why I have been absent so much lately. So I hope that I don't lose you before I get to the polishes. I apologize in advance, this will probly be pretty long! The polishes are on the bottom if you want to just skip to them! ;)

In Feb. I had a lot of car trouble. A LOT. I ended up losing my job because of it. I have never been fired from any job in my 10-11 years of working. I was devastated. I felt so useless. And I was so angry! I am still pretty angry with how everything went down. With all the trouble with my car I had to worry how I would get my hubby to work, and how I could get to school. I stopped painting my nails, except for the few colors I had been sent to review. I just had no desire. My parents helped me with my car so at least I was able to get hubby to and from work, and I could finish up my semester. On my very last day of class, I ended up adopting a dog from a lady I used to work with. We named him BOY because it was literally the only thing he answered to lolol. He was a wreck of a dog, and he tried and tested my patience, and seemed to know how to push every single one of my buttons to drive me absolutely crazy! He has taken a lot of work, time, and pateince, but I think we are finally making some progress! yayy!

Fast Forward to June, I was coming home from taking hubby to work, all of a sudden, all the lights on my dash go on, and the car just stops. There, in the middle of traffic.. And it wont start for nothing. I go to grab my phone, and I left my phone at home... Fuck. Great. Fantastic! It was like 830am, I was still in my pajamas, and I looked like a mess. I walked into the first store I saw that was open, and I tried to call my hubby to see if he could get a hold of my friend Amanda to pick me up since we were supposed to hang out that day. She finally finds me and we try to get my car to Auto Zone to have it tested. Nothing is showing up. Everything is fine it says.. ughhhh BRUNO MARS ( my cars name. Because I hate them both so very much!! ) WHY MUST YOU BE LIKE THIS?! We left my car in the Wal-Mart parking lot and she took me home to her house.. We didn't even get to watch Pretty Little Liars!! My car was out of commission for about a week and a half. While all this is going down, my Grandma offered me to come live with her in AZ.. She had offered a few times, but I was in school, and there were a lot of things we had to take care of so I just didn't know if it would work or if it would ever even happen. I mean, I have A LOT of animals, hubby has a job that he LOVES, there were a lot of things that needed to be taken care of. But I was so unhappy. we could not catch a break for anything. Hubby had talked to his boss to see if he could transfer, and it ended up getting him a promotion! Very awesome and exciting! So in a little over 3 weeks, I had to clean, get rid of, and pack 6+ years worth of stuff. That was tough. It took me about a week to pack my nail polish alone!

Aug. 3rd we packed up the truck and headed to Arizona... Since we have been here things have been pretty good. There are still things in IL. that we are taking care of, but we are finally out. I really needed this restart... And I would like to thank you all again for sticking by us while everything was going on in our personal lives. It really truly means the world to us.

So now for some polish! Since I've been here in Az., I have been wanting to blog again and paint my nails regularly. I am even thinking about going and getting my nail technician degree, until I can find a school that offers dietetic technician.

So, I have a few designs that I want to show you today. I have posted a few on my instagram, but not all of them yet!

My natural nails have also been looking really nice! They are not as brittle, peely, and just plain crappy. I still need a ridge filler, but I really am so proud of them. I have been trying to take really good care of them!

Just Kidding!

 The first one I want to show you is a fun nail art. I used the first couple colors that I unpacked and some nail tape. The base colors are butter LONDON Silly Billy and Cake-Hole. I placed some nail tape in different ways once those dried, and applied Union Jack Black on top. One of my very favorite blacks!

Fun, right?! It was also really super easy! I may try to do a video tutorial some time!

I also used my dotting tools for the first time. On the first day we got here to AZ. Hubby had to run to the store to get a few things, I stayed home to unpack some stuff. When he came home he gave me  three wet n wilds from their new Ferris Wheel Collection. I had been so out of the loop, I did not even know Wet n Wild had a new collection!

I used Wheel Romance as my base color and used my dotting tool and did some little dots with spitfire and chambray showers. Topped with some northern lights for some glitter! I really loved this a lot. Very cute and easy!

And I saved the best for last. This one was my very favorite mani that I have done in a long time. I found an idea for it on pinterest and did my own version of it. I did it for Hubby's bday. We went out to celebrate his bday and our Anniversary, because we didn't really get to do anything for our anniversary last month.

I used Zoya Dovima as my base and, Ulta Holographic on my thumb, Chaos & Crocodiles Color Wheel Chaos on my pointer, OPI In True Stefani Fashion on my middle, Wet n Wild Fergie Mermaid Curves on my ring finger, and OPI Pink Yet Lavender on my pinkie. I then used Julep matter top coat over the glitter! I really loved this. It was so easy and so pretty! I couldn't stop looking at it. I only wish I did glitter on my thumb, and not the holographic.

I really hope that you love all of these! I will be posting about my trip to the Arizona Botanical Gardens next time! It was so cool and so much fun!

Gluttony

Hi there!

Today I want to show you a polish from a new to me brand, Marbles for Polish. Leah did a review of her polishes a few months back. I haven't had a lot of extra money to purchase ANY nail polish, so when it was my groups turn to review for her, I was super excited!

The first color I want to show you Gluttony, from her 7 Deadly Sins collection. Gluttony is a gorgeous metallic orange polish with gorgeous orange glitters that almost look red. They go perfect together!  When it dries it looks like it could almost have a texture to it, but it is not, it is smooth! 

This polish applies nice and even. It is just so very gorgeous!

Masquerade

Hi there!

Today I want to show you another polish from Ellison's Organics. This is a super FUN glitter topper called Masquerade. There are tons of different sized red, blue, green, pink, and purple glitters. The base for this polish is clear, but almost has a green tint to it. It doesn't effect the polishes when you add it over them just kind of adds a nice shimmer. The glitters are abundant, you don't really have to fish for them, though I do recommend to let some of the base drip off before you apply it!

I used a couple different colors to show this awesome glitter over! This is two coats of masquerade with a top coat.

 This polish is so versatile and fun! The colors I used as undies are Julep Delaunay, Wet n Wild Coast to Coast, L.A. Colors Energy Source, Wet n Wild Get Lucky, Wet n Wild Black Crémé.

I hope you are all well! I'd like to apologize for just falling off the face of the earth for a bit there!

School finished for me about two weeks ago. I was hoping to take summer classes, but that didn't work out in my favor so I'm looking for a summer job. I got mostly A's and One B. I was a little sad about the B, but it was an F so I'm not really THAT upset. I'm just glad that the class is over!

Hi there! 

Today I want to show you a super awesome holographic from the brand I Love Nail Polish called Mega.

When you look at the this polish in the bottle it is like pure holo wonderful goodness! It is not a topper, it is straight up, in yo face holographic! It is wonderful! I've never seen a polish with this much holographic in it! And dry smooth like regular nail polish! It is so intense! nuts! I love it!

Intense right? It is amazing by itself, but you could totally add a little of this to a bottle of an old polish you have that needs a little oomph! Give it a whole new life and it wouldn't take much either I bet!

Organizing my stash

I have been wanting to rearrange my collection of nail items for awhile, just haven't had the motivation. Last night I was sitting here thinking "man, I don't want to do my nails right now and I have to do a blog post for Tuesday!" lol So I was being lazy and just decided to do another stash post. I did a post about my stash back in January, and it has grown greatly since then. Here is the original post. 

While doing this I also thought, why not finish watching the VMA's so I can delete it off my DVR.... Bad idea. I got sucked in and while watching, barely did anything.... Especially when this came on......

HOW DO THEY EXPECT ANYONE TO GET THINGS ACCOMPLISHED WHEN THEY PUT THIS ON TV????? lolol I seriously went like total fangirl when Justin Timberlake and NSYNC performed. I NEVER get fangirl about anything really.

This is what it looked like when I dumped everything out onto my coffee table. There were layers of stuff. To me, this is a small collection, maybe medium... I want a HUGE collection, not just big, HUUUUGGGGEEEEE. lol I am totally addicted to anything nails. It would be cool to go to school to be a nail tech too, but I don't think I would do it as a job, I would just do it to my friends and family and myself. lol

This is my collection that I posted back in January. I didn't really have anything tool wise, no nail stickers, gems, just basically some polish. Pathetic. lol I have won a few giveaways, gotten some as gifts, and I am in the Adopt A Friend group on Facebook, which Panacea and I have both talked about before. Thats pretty much how I got 90% of this. The rest I bought. 

I have a bunch of stuff too in a whole other bag that is for giveaways and for my buddies for the adopt a friend page. It only fills a tote half way though. 

I am supposed to be getting the computer desk I am currently using right now to type this as a desk for doing nail stuff in my room. Its the desk my husband uses. He is getting a really big desk from my parents, so he is going to let me use this one. I just need to get some shelves or drawers or something now, clean a corner in my room up, move some things, and get the desk for him and then I will finally have my own space to do nails!! I am so excited!!

Anyways, I don't really have a very good storage system now, but here is what I have all neat and organized now!

Still trying to decide what I want to do with the few non cruelty free polishes I have. I had gotten rid of some, but now I need to figure out if I want to keep the ones I have now or not, I can't decide. I really only paint my nails for the blog though, but I do paint other peoples nails too, so I dunno. lol

Metallic mania

Oh my gosh, I just love metallics so much and recently have been introduced to the KleanColor metallics! Omg I love them so much!! Some of my favorite polishes. I did that post not too long ago using two of the three that I got from my swap group I am in. Last week, I won a contest from Chansi's Mani Madness and the prize was this!

I was so excited when I found out I won!!!!

It was so funny, I had used KleanColor polishes before, and while talking to Chansi, she asked if they were stinky like everyone says... I told her no, that I don't remember them being stinky. Then I did this mani... lol Before I had only used 1 color at a time, or used multiple, but not a whole lot of polish, just dots or something, so I never noticed. When I did this mani I got light headed and almost quit cuz the smell was so bad. lol I guess using 3 of them at once, you really will notice the smell. haha I mean if I would have had a fan blowing or something it probably wouldn't have been so bad, but WHEW. Once I put a top coat over it and washed my hands, it wasn't that bad.

This mani is so fun and easy to do. Just paint a single color as your base. I used Metallic Yellow. I didn't realize how bad of a job I did with 1 coat, but when the flash went off, you could really see all the spots I missed. You can't really tell in this pic though.

Then take your second color after the base dries a little and dab the end of your brush in multiple places on your nail. I used Metallic Jungle, and I made a mess. lol

Once that dries a little, do the same with a third color. Keep doing this for however many colors you want to use. I think 3 is perfect. You might have to come back with a few extra dabs of the second color over the top, depending on how well you do it. Last color I used was Metallic Pink.

Nail party

So a few days ago I went to my parents house for two days. They live only 20 minutes away, but its nice to get away from responsibility and just spend time with my babies. We live in an apartment and my parents live in the country sort of, so lots more space for the kids to play!

While there I got the urge to do nails. My moms best friend lives with her and is a nail tech and she kept saying we should have a nail party, so we did!

Felicia, my moms friend, did my moms fingers and I did my moms toes. Well Felicia did the nail art, I just painted them. I also did my own nails twice. I didn't like them the first time so I tried something else and ended up not liking that either and liking what I had originally done after all.

It was actually pretty funny though because after my mom had her nails done she went to bed and Felicia and I were sitting there talking about freaky stuff that has happened to us living in my parents house. As we were talking about it I was doing my nails. Halfway thru, we were talking about the time one of my pictures flew off the wall and then the picture right behind me fell off the wall. Felicia and I both screamed bloody murder and bolted upstairs! Come to find out there was a dinky, bent nail on the wall holding it up barely. We turned on the fan and that's why it fell. Still scared us shitless! Lol So being frazzled, sleepy, and no longer in the mood to paint my nails they turned out like crap. Lol this was the second one I mentioned. So yea, after that I was looking at pics of the first mani and I was like man, I should have kept that on! Haha oh well.

For the first mani I used two colors by Urban Outfitters that Panacea sent to me for my birthday. I'm not really in to milky colors, but I really like this one. The milky color is called Bright Lights. The accent nail is Scorcher.

For the second mani I used Sinful Shines Devious. I really love this color a lot. It has a patent leather looking finish and its gorgeous. On top I used Juleps Carly. This blue is so gorgeous! I was going for a fade and then full glitter on the accent nail, but this was the part I did after almost peeing myself. Haha so I screwed it up.
