Kings and Queens

YAY! We're back finally! Ok, well first I want to say sorry for taking so long to do my post. I know I kept saying I was going to do it and didn't. I have been working a lot lately. I am so happy to be working again, and as weird as this sounds, I like that I do dishes at work at my nail polish comes off because it gives me a reason to paint them again! haha It does hold up surprisingly well, so it gives me enough time to enjoy the mani, but short enough to please my addiction to paint them all the time! haha

The reason I haven't been posting is I needed a little break. I was on the brink of a mental breakdown with a lot of different things going on in my life and it was too much for me. I didn't have any motivation to do my nails either. Since getting a new job and being able to get out of the house a little more that has eliminated a huge part of the problem I was having and I am feeling a lot better! Thank you guys for sticking around and being so understanding!

ANYWAYS.... Well for any of you who follow our facebook page, you will know that I had some acrylic nails put on awhile back. Well when I started my job, they told me I couldn't have them. I had them on for two weeks when I started my job. I waited till the last minute and tried to soak them off, that was a bad idea. It was the first time I ever tried to soak off nails, and I had to google how to do it. lol The way I did it didn't even work. It was taking FOREVER. Since I waited last minute, I ended up giving up and just filing them down. They were already cut from when I was soaking them. Well since they were all grown out and looking terrible I decided to paint them to try to cover their ugliness.

I used one of the polishes I got awhile ago in my Reddit exchange. I used I <3 Nail Polish's Kings & Queens. This color is SO SPARKLY and GORGEOUS! Omg! I am in love! They make the best holos and I need all of them now! lol I tried to do an accent nail to make it ever sparklier, but in the pics you can barely see it. I used Bombshell by Polish Me Silly. It looked really awesome in person! Pardon the messy nails!

Since then I have taken my acrylics off the rest of the way, but I peeled them off. After doing a ton of dishes, they started to fall off. My nails are super thin, but I have been using Duri Rejuvacote in hopes that it will help them! I had a bad experience with those acrylics, they were uneven and the lady hurt me a bunch of times while doing them. Then she gave me a pedicure and I got blisters on the top of my foot. I think that was a reaction to something cuz I had just shaved, but still. The whole experience was shitty. So I plan on not ever getting acrylics again. I have said this before, but after that last experience, it has really made me not want them ever again. Please make sure you check out your salon before you let them touch your hands or feet! Make sure they meet all requirements by law!

Just part of the issues I had with my nails. So uneven!

Hope you guys are having a great week! xoLeah

Black Holos

Hello lovees!

Today I am going to show you two really awesome black holos that I got recently. The first one is The Symbiote by Chirality. The second is The Beyond by Color Club. I love both of them because they're both black holos, but look so different! Color Club is one of my favorite brands and Chirality is a new brand to me. I have heard of it before, but this is my first time using/owning any. I got The Symbiote from Jen from Jen's Nail Files. We found out awhile ago that we live 5 minutes from each other, so when she had a bunch of holos for sale, I couldnt resist because holos are my FAVE!! Beyond I got from my new friend in my Adopt A Friend group that does nail polish exchanges. I think The Symbiote is my favorite of the two though just because its a darker black, but like I said, they're both great!! Its funny how you can have practically the same polish, but they look so different. They're both great formulas and go on very nice. They both stayed on great for the week or so that I wore each one!

Sorry this is such a short post, but hope you all are having a great week and enjoyed my post. XOLeah

Mermaid Summer

Hi there!

Really quick I want to wish you all a safe Friday the 13th. It is a FULL MOON too. PLEASE make sure your animals are inside, and take of your outside ones as well. Make sure there are no weirdos. I am totally superstitious so I am totally freaked out this Friday the 13th! Have you also heard about the Mercury Retrograde? The Universe is really crazy right now!

Anywho..

Today I want to show you another color from Marbles for Polish. This color is called Mermaid Summer. I was really super excited to show you guys this color because I love love love mermaids, summer, and swimming! When I was a young girl I used to always pretend to be a mermaid when I was in the pool. I believe that mermaids are real, and mostly wish that I was a mermaid in RL. lolol.

Mermaid Summer is so gorgeous and perfect for summer. It is a teal base polish with a bit of holographic shimmer  to it. I couldn't stop looking at it! It applied so smooth and evenly.  It is great with two coats and shimmers so beautifully!

Here it is with two coats no top coat.

This would be a great base for some mermaid tail nail art, or even those really pretty teal base with copper/gold sponges. I think I am going to try that next time I go out! I will post my results on Instagram when I do. If you don't follow me already, here is the link! Sometimes I post polishes on there that I don't blog about!

You can check out Marbles for Polish on Facebook and Etsy. She also has a special vacation sale code right until the end of the month. 15% off your purchase of $15. She also offers free shipping on orders over $60!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Orly Color Blast Magenta Gloss Glitter

Hello lovees.

Today I am gonna show you a GORGEOUS polish! I wish I could have gotten a sunshine pic of it, but its been so rainy and gloomy here today that I couldn't. This polish is so pretty though, and its holographic! Its called Magenta Gloss Glitter by ORLY Color Blast.

I think I say this every time, but I hate ORLY brushes. I love the handle, but hate the brush itself. Its too skinny, I hate skinny brushes. The only reason I keep buying them though is they have a great formula. I found out that I suck at painting with skinny brushes, so therefore I hate them. haha

I went to Meijer and was just looking around, not intending to buy anything and I found a huge display with a ton of colors. I was so excited. I want to go back and get more, but since they're $6.99 for half the size of the $8.99 bottles, I don't think I'll be buying much. lol We'll see though. I got them for myself for Mothers Day. lol I will be getting some other polishes too, but I have been waiting for the hubby to have a day off to tell me how many I can get, cuz I would probably max out our credit card if he wasn't there when I ordered them. lol I have a problem.

Orly Color Blast Magenta Gloss Glitter

This polish is great though, goes on nice with 1 coat, but I would recommend 2 to be perfect. Don't mind my ring finger, I smudged it right before I went to take pics and one of my kids was awake, so I didn't have time to fix it. lol

I have been using Nail Tek to try to make my nails better, they're so chippy and thin, I hate it. I tried Duri and it was ok, but when I stop they start to chip even worse and I am terrible about keeping up with it, so I am hoping to get better results with Nail Tek. I am hoping to show you guys some weekly results with it. I started it last week, but forgot to do it every day, so I am starting again today. I just did these today, so this is day one. I will show you guys each week how my nails are doing, obviously. hehe

The pics of me holding the ORLY bottle are without top coat, the pics holding Nail Tek are with that as the top coat. I also used Nail Tek as a base coat, per the instruction.

Anyways, I hope all you mommies had a wonderful Mothers Day and everyone else had a great time celebrating with mothers, or just doing whatever it is you did that day. hehe Hope everyone has a great week and enjoyed my post! xoLeah

Intense right? It is amazing by itself, but you could totally add a little of this to a bottle of an old polish you have that needs a little oomph! Give it a whole new life and it wouldn't take much either I bet!

Her polishes start at $10. You can check out I Love Nail Polish and give them a like on Facebook and you can check out her store here.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Regulate

Hi there!

The color I want to show you today is another color from the Mentality 4/20 collection. Have you checked any of the colors out yet?!

The color is Regulate, and its a gorgeous deep blue/black holographic. This color reminds me a lot of staring at the starts on a clear night. And the holographic in this polish is outrageous! Almost like little starts in the sky! This polish is truly so pretty to look at!

The application of this color was really nice and smooth. It was a little thicker formula than the other colors, probly because it is so dark, but it did not affect the application and it did not make it hard to work with or anything!

Here it is with two coats, no top coat.

So shiny and sparkley. You definitely can not go wrong with this color!

Have you tried any Mentality polishes yet? Don't forget, until 4/20 ( Easter/Sunday! ) the 4/20 collections are on sale for $5 each, with free domestic shipping! What are you waiting for?!

You can check out Mentality on Facebook, and you can check out their store on Big Cartel! They have tons and tons of other amazing colors starting at $6.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Medicate

Hi there!

I can't believe it is almost Easter! Holy cow, this year is just flying by! It is crazy that Easter and 4/20 are on the same day this year.

I figured that since it is almost 4/20- I would review the rest of my Mentality 4/20 collection! I did a review on Educate some time ago, you can check that post out, here. Mentality actually has a few more colors, known as the Temperate Collection, and both sets are on sale for $5 until 4/20! Woooo!

The color I want to show you today is called Medicate. I love love love this color and the name. Medical Marijuana has helped me, and so many people I know be able to live a healthy and mostly normal life.

Medicate is a super gorgeous, deep dark green holographic polish. It is so pretty. The application of this polish was great, it applied so smooth and even. It could be worn with just one coat, but I always try to go with at least two!

Here is Medicate with two coats no top coat.

So pretty. It is not a plain gloss finish, its like almost gloss and matte in one. Very cool!

Here it is with two coats and a top coat.

My camera really didn't like taking pictures of it with the top coat!

I like really love this color! You can check Mentality out on Facebook and on Big Cartel. Their polishes start at $6 each ( except the 4/20's are 5! ), and they offer free domestic shipping!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

The Credible Hulk

Hi there!

Since forever - I have been obsessed with The Hulk! I have no idea what my obsession with him is but I think he is just so cool. I also have Hulk like temper, I just don't get green when I am mad.

When I saw that LynBDesigns had a Hulk inspired holographic nail polish I couldn't resist! Who can say no to The Hulk??! Especially when he is full of glitter.

This polish was seriously gorgeous green hologrphic polish. It went on super light with only one coat, but two coats - oh man! This polish just POPPED! The holographic in this baby is to die for. This polish is just so gorgeous! So Sparkley! I wore it for like two weeks straight without getting tired of it. And it is so durable! I wore it for the whole time with no touch ups and very minimal wear! ( totally forgot to take pictures tho! I'm sorry! )

Here is The Credible Hulk with two coats and a top coat!

I seriously cannot get enough of this polish! Even Sparty wanted in on this action!

I am a big fan of LynBDesign polishes! You can  follow LynBDesigns on Facebook and checkout her store on Etsy. Her polishes are super creative, the formula is top quality, and her prices are super affordable, starting at $8!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!
