Un año increíble (An incredible year)

Today is officially our 1 year blogiversary! Panacea started the blog this day one year ago! The next day she asked me to be a part of the blog too! I was so excited! I had been thinking about doing a nail blog myself, and who wouldn't want to do something so fun with your best friend?! So two days after Panaceas first post, I did my first post. This past year has been so exciting and we have made so many new friends and are thankful for all the new fans, friends, and fun we have had being a part of such a big nail community!

My very first post can be found here! I did a Frankensteins monster inspired mani, it was a lot of fun. Here is a pic!

For my mani for today, I decided to try to do something again that I had tried before, but was unsuccessful at, using striping tape. The first time I tried it a few different ways and I couldn't get it to work at all. I think the polishes that I used were too watery. I decided to give it another try and was super excited that it worked. This is probably one of my favorite mani's that I have done on myself.

For my hubby and I's 7 year wedding anniversary, he let me buy some polishes from Ulta. I seen this color and couldn't resist. I kept going back to it when trying to decide. Its OPI DS Magic. It is my first DS polish. I love it! It goes on so good and it lasted a long time, not to mention its gorgeous!

I love glitter/holo/sparkly polishes and mani's, they're my fave! So I wanted this to be super sparkly! I used Color Club Harp On It underneath Magic to add more sparkle to the already sparklyness of Magic. lol Topped my mani off with a gem on each nail. I picked purple because in person there is a purple tint to Magic in the bottle, you can't see it as much on your nails, but I thought it might bring it out a little.

Now I am addicted to striping tape. I wish it didn't take me so long to do it though. I am just slow I guess. haha I loved this mani so much though that I even did my right hand! haha I did a bunch of mani's on my friends too. I am going to be doing a post in the future with a bunch of mani's I've done for my friends though, so keep an eye out for that.

Hope everyone has a great week! xoLeah

Moms nails!

A few weeks ago my mom came over to hang out with me and my kids cuz she hadn't seen us in awhile. While she was here I was like "Mom! Let me paint your nails!!" They were so long and mine have been stubby for awhile. She had acrylics put on awhile ago, but they eventually, after lots of fills, became her own nails under the acrylic.

We sat down and she picked out some colors that she liked and started to paint her nails with the base color we wanted to use. I was like mom, I am supposed to be the one painting your nails... lol But I ended up just letting her finish that part. We used Wet n Wild Megalast in Candy-Licious.

After we did that, she really wanted to use Color Club's Wing Fling from the Take Wing collection. I don't blame her, its my favorite from the collection! Side note... If you have a Meijer department store near you, they have the Take Wing collection, also the Halo Hues collection on sale right now!!! Scoop them up!!

On her accent nail, we did the slant with Color Club Harp On It. Also for the lil dots! The white on the nails is Diamond Cosmetics White Nail Art. I used a dotting tool to apply it though because I had just gotten them and wanted to try them! haha

I wish she still had her nails on though, they were so fun to play with. I bought some fake nails to play around with, but I need to find a way to display them when I do some funky stuff on them. They were only a dollar for a pack of like 20 at Dollar General! So I was like why not!

I am really trying to get my nails long right now. I was just introduced to some stuff called Duri Rejuvacote. I have seen before and after pics from the people who recommended it and I am so excited for it!! I have some and been using it, but my nails were already getting really long, but since the stuff didnt really have time to work on them that much they did start to break and one hand is way shorter than the other, so I think I am going to file them down and start over and see how it goes. Here is a pic of what my nails on my left hand look like. I need to get rid of the stains, but otherwise they are looking awesome. They're just SOOOO thin and they chip off easily. So I am really hoping this stuff works wonders for me!! My fingers look terrible, don't mind them. lol

Oh Halo Yea!

Don't forget to check out our contest going on. Visit our Facebook page here for more details.

Omg, I'm totally in love.

Last Tuesday I went to Meijer and my friend and I happened to walk into the beauty section. I looked over and noticed they had a color club rack over by where we were and I was so excited because they have never had Color Club before. Well they have never had full size bottles of polish, but they have the nail art bottles and the nail art duo pens. Anyways, I was bent down looking at the glittery colors they had, they were bright colors. Totally didn't even notice until I got up to walk away that they had the entire Halo Hues collection!! I WAS SO EXCITED!!! You guys have no idea how bad I have been wanting that collection! I was only able to buy two at the time, but I can't wait to go back and get the rest because this stuff is seriously AMAZING!!

I wanted to do another St. Patty's day theme and also try out the gems that I got on clearance! I am totally impressed with both the holo polish and the gems. I used Color Club Harp On It for all my nails except for the accent nail which I used Color Club, but I don't know the name because it literally says "no name" on the label. lol Then for the gems I used Fingrs Flirt Nail & Body Jewels.

Being a mom of two crazy lil boys, I usually have chipped nails the day after painting them. I painted my nails late Tuesday night, Wednesday morning. The green on my left ring finger fell off partially last night (Thursday) and today (Friday) I have a lil peeled off on my pointer finger on my right hand. That hand is usually the first to chip seeing as I'm right handed. The gems all stayed on really long too. I have been showering, bathing my kids, changing their diapers, playing, washing a few dishes, I am also an obsessive hand washer, so washing and drying all the time. I have been playing with the gems with my other fingers too. I couldn't believe how well they stayed on! I was sure they would have been gone the next morning when I woke up because of the way I sleep. I pull the blankets up to my face and put my hands under my pillows, but here we are Friday and they're still there, minus the one that peeled off when the polish peeled off. Well, technically one did try to peel off, but I pushed it back down and its been staying on pretty good. haha I have never had polish last this long before with all the things I do, its always chipping.

Ok, well hope you guys like my post! Have a great weekend!

xoxoLeah

Ps. Enjoy some different photos of it. First couple are with a flash, last couple are in the sun. Pardon my fingers. I have a habit of picking at them when they get dry, which happens often.
