Hearts and Polka Dots

Hey ladies!! Quick post again...

I am really just so into shiny, sparkly, glittery, metallicy nail polish! lol I have this bracelet that my mom bought me, and I wanted to do something fancy that went with the bracelet. Something to stand out with the sparkle of the diamonds in it. Used this pretty pearl white from Pure Ice called Platinum! Isn't it amazing?? I also wanted to add some more bling with the new gems I got to match the heart on the bracelet!

After doing that, I thought they looked too plain. I had also gotten some new dotting tools, so I used a color that I think it just so gorgeous, its a rosey, metallic pink by Sinful Colors called Dancing Nails. I decided polkda dots would be cute! It was real simple and fast to do. Well putting the gems on took some time, but I only had to do it on my thumbs, so it wasn't too bad! I love how long it all stayed on too!

Hope that you enjoyed this short post! Have a great week!! xoLeah

It's Complicated, I'm Green with Envy

Hi there :)

A few weeks ago Sally's was having a clearance sale and at the same time they were also giving away an Orly nail polish with any $3 purchase. It was a pretty cool deal. I got there at like the end of the sale so they didn't have many colors to choose from but I did get a pretty color. It's a teal-y color  called Green with Envy. To me it's not the kind of green that I would think of when I hear the saying green with envy.

I really didn't love the application of the polish. It went on super thin. I know it is a light color but this is three coats and it is still kind of see through. I didn't love the way it coated on my nails either. I did however absolutely love love love this color.

I added a layer of glitter over it and I feel even more in love. I used Pure Ice- It's Complicated. This is one of their new 29 colors! I was really pleased with the way it looked when I was finished. When I tried to take the glitter off it was really hard. I haven't had such a hard time with removing glitter in a while!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed!

St. Baldricks

Hi there :)

About a week or so ago, my friend Amanda held an event at our town expo called "Wauconda Community Shave" it was to raise money and awareness for St. Baldricks Foundation: a foundation to help cure kid cancer. It really is an amazing organization! At the event so many awesome people shaved their heads to stand with children with cancer, and surprisingly most of them were girls/woman! It was truly heart warming and I had tears in my eyes almost the whole time I was there! Amanda and her mom even shaved their heads! I was going to shave my head but I wouldn't have been able to donate it, and I feel like that would be a waste. Just last year I cut my hair to donate it so I told Amanda maybe we could all do it next year so I would be able to donate it! If you are interested in checking out photos of the event or information on St. Baldricks, click on the links here and here.

I did some nail art on my nails in support! I also painted her nails too! Check them out :) I use Pure Ice- Free Spirit on all my nails except the accent nail I used LA Colors- Energy Source.

On my accent nail I drew the St. Baldricks logo. I am no artist but I think its pretty close!

I drew little faces on my middle and ring finger with Julep Hayden.

I used Pure Ice- Free Spirit for the eyes, Wet n Wild Red Red for the lips & Black Créme and little rhinestones on my pinkie.

I really really enjoyed this nail art! I spent a lot of time on it and put in a lot of hard work! I didn't get to wear this to the event because I had to work and it didn't last that long. I really wish I would have planned better to be able to wear them to the event. Here is a photo of Amanda's nails that I did on her. I didn't get to do so much detail on her's because I did it right before I went to work. I also wish I would have planned better to do the nail art on her nails too, but I think they are still nice!

Here is a photo of Amanda and her Mom Before & After!

On His Saddle & Party Of Five

Hi there :)

Tonight I want to show you a really pretty color, "On His Saddle". At first, when I had tried this color on I was not sure if I was a fan, but as time went on I decided I actually really really liked it! As I looked at it I feel like it made my nails look longer than they are- which I really love!!

I added some glitter on top. I used Party of Five. Its a teal-ey/light blue glitter with diamond holographic chunks in it.

At first I liked it better with the glitter but I actually liked it better without the glitter after a while!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy!

Happy Valentines Day!

Hi there :)

I know I told you all already how much I LOVE Valentines Day! :D I am so sad that I have to work tomorrow! My Husband and I for the last few years have stayed home and made heart shaped raviolis and watched scary movies. We might still watch scary movies when I get home but we won't have time to make the raviolis...  There's always next year! Do you and your honey have Valentines Day traditions?

I was so excited for all the super amazing Valentines Day mani's I was going to do, then drew a blank and life happened and I never really got around to them. I finally have today off and wanted to do at least ONE V-Day mani!

I chose a pretty pale pink from Pure Ice called Love. How perfect! I really do love this color but I don't think it is a stand alone color for my skin.

I used Pure Ice - Wet T- Shirt to do a tip on all my nails except my accent nail which I used Pure Ice - Come Closer. I was really pleased with how well the colors went with each other. I also did a small heart on my ring finger with Wet T- Shirt.

Thank you all for reading ! I hope you enjoy. Happy Valentines Day!

Leah's Collection

Happy New Year everyone!!

So I recently went to put my new Christmas polishes that I got into the box that I keep my nail polishes in and realized they're starting to not fit anymore. Not to mention the $40 I just spent at the Julep end of the year sale which I haven't received yet. All these polishes except for about 3 I have acquired in 2 years, but mostly in the last year. We moved about 2 and a half years ago and I wasn't all that into polish at the time like I am now, so I put a bunch of it in storage. I have no idea where that box is now, not to mention they're probably all broken/exploded from the heat/cold changes. That makes me very sad, and I wish I would have kept them all out of storage, but at least I got a new collection going for me now!

This is the case I currently use. I was being lazy and didn't want to get my camera out again so I took a screenshot of the case on the Caboodles website. Its a great case, has shelves for other stuff like brushes, files, etc... Currently all my polishes fit in it, and I have a lot.

That is the top view of my current polishes that aren't in storage. You can't really tell from this pic, but I have an obsession with sparkly and glittery nail polishes! lol I have been trying to branch out from pinks too with my new collection of colors. My old collection was mostly pinks cuz its one of my favorite colors, but I seem to be leaning towards blues this time, haha.

To be honest, I am not really sure why I am doing a post about my collection of polishes, but I would really love to see pics of everyone elses collections!! Nail polish is one of my favorite things, and I love to share it! Panacea and I were talking about how we like to mention how we want to see certain things that you other ladies do, and we have yet to see anything from anyone! Happy New Year!

Hi there :)

So it's the eve of New Years Eve(Its 11:30pm so its just about N.Y.E). I don't really party anymore, Hubby and I might have a glass of wine and kiss at Midnight. I work until 7 and he works until 11 so we will be home like right in time Midnight. So maybe just a kiss lol..

I did my nails in a half moon style. This is new to me but it sounded really interesting. I used Pure Ice- Purple Reign as my base.

Here is a picture with two coats, I probly could have used even three. But I figured since I was doing something on top it was fine.

For the top I wanted to use something super sparkley so I used Pure Ice - Five Some since I got a lot of compliments on it last time.

This is the last entry for the Nail Basel Challenge. It was very easy and fun to do and it looked really neat and different.

Have a SAFE and Happy New Years! Don't Drink and Drive! It is not worth it! Many taxi's will take you home for free and many local tow companies will pick you up and tow you home for FREE!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy.
