Poshinality

Panacea and I have come so far with our blogging that people have been contacting us to do reviews of their brand!! Its so exciting! So right before I left to visit Pan in Chicago we got an email from Poshinality! She wanted us to review her polishes. She's a new brand out of Los Angeles. She has some really gorgeous polishes, I can't wait to try more! You can visit her store here.

Poshinality Flirt

She sent me Flirt to try. Its a shimmery/glittery soft pink top coat. Its such a gorgeous color! It would be cute for just a lil something extra on your nails by itself, or with another color underneath! I tried it both ways and loved it both ways. It would have looked so much cuter though on my nails by itself if my nails weren't stained. I have been so lazy and haven't fixed them yet.

I decided I wanted to also try it with another color, so I used Hey Baby from OPI. Its a pink from the Gwen Stefani collection. Panacea got it for me for my birthday! Its such a gorgeous color and looked perfect with Flirt!

After I did all that I paired it up with some white dots with my I <3 Nail Art pen by Sally Hansen and a rose on my accent nail. I used Fingrs Heart 2 Art fimo slices.

Flirt is an awesome formula! Almost no smell to it at all, it went on so smoothly, and it is holding up awesomely! I have even washed a few dishes and this is what they look like after 4 days of wear. I even have been doing more than usual lately, so they have been getting a good workout! lol It also dried at a good rate! Don't mind my dry hands in this last pic. Washed em a lot today and my lotion wore off and haven't put more on yet. lol

This brand is very professional and not super expensive. Her polishes are about $9.50 each. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new brand to try out! Her polishes are 5 free, vegan, and cruelty free, so thats super awesome! She also said this on her website:

"Through B. Cause, POSHINALITY donates a portion of its revenue to social causes and campaigns that drive for long-term change.  B. Cause which stands for Beauty Cause seeks to expand the definition of beauty through giving.  POSHINALITY’s current areas of focus are domestic violence, sex trafficking, AIDS awareness/care and global clean water initiatives."

Happy Easter 2014

Hello lovlies!

This one is going to be quick. Just wanted to wish you all a early Happy Easter since next Tuesday will be after Easter. I have showed you guys these colors before HERE. The polishes I used are from Claires. Its their Pretty Please collection. I can't seem to find any other names for the polishes on the package. The photos of it are always really hard to capture true colors. They're soft shades, pastel really. They always show up so much brighter in pics. I decided to try some cute lil eggs this time with my Sally Hansen I <3 Nail Art pens. On some of them, it wasn't completely dry before I used the pens, so its kinda lumpy, but otherwise, they worked great once the base was fully dry. They for some reason were being weird for this mani though, they were like fading almost, then the top coat kinda wiped the blue off. I had to reapply. I have never had this problem before, so I dunno what was going on. I finished it off with the matte top coat from Julep.

I think they kinda turned out bad, but I got a lot of compliments on them, so I decided I would share them anyways, plus they took forever, so I might as well share. lol

Hope you guys have a great Easter and enjoy the rest of your week! xoLeah

Rainbows and gold!

Another early St. Patricks Day mani! I also wanted to show you guys some of the new polishes I got before I had gotten my package from my adopt a friend buddy this month. I will be doing a post with those polishes next week hopefully. I apologize in advance if this post is weird. We got a new tablet with keyboard, so I am doing this post as a test to see if I can do a blog post from my tablet! Thats also why the MyNailPolishIsPoppin.com tag is handwritten on the pics. I dont have a good photo editing program on my tablet yet so I just used the "note" feature to write it on. Lol

Anyways... Here is a list of all the polishes used in this mani and swatch pic. On the swatch pic I used the following: Starting with the thumb is Straight A's, Cosmetic Arts Ditch Day, Sally Hansen Satin Glam Go Gold, Sugar Shimmer Work of Tart, Sugar Shimmer Gummy Grape. Then once I put more on top I used the following start with thumb: Milani Sugar Burst, Hard Candy Black Tie Optional, Milani Sugar Cane. Then the purple heart is the purple I <3 Nail Art pen, and the blue pen for the blue heart.

For my St. Patricks Day mani I wanted to use all the new I <3 Nail Art pens that I had gotten, but I didn't realize until I started it that I didnt get an orange pen. Lol So my rainbow is orangeless. So I used red, yellow, green blue, and purple for the rainbow lines. The base is the Sally Hansen Satin Glam Go Gold color I used in the swatch pic above. Then for the pot of gold I used the black nail art pen and Gold Dust Woman by My-Stash Lacquer for the gold coins in the pot. Even though it looks kinda weird without orange, I still love it. I need to get that orange one though and do another rainbow now.

All these polishes are nice and I really like them. The Sugar Shimmers surprisingly take a few coats. The Go Gold Satin Glam is a VERY opaque polish, which I love. The Cosmetic Arts Straight A's polish took a bunch of coats as well to fully cover and still it wasn't as much as I would have liked, I was just in a hurry. I still love it, its such a pretty soft pink color. The pens I am till trying to get the hang of because I have a habit of pressing too hard or not waiting till my base coat is dry and then making it look lumpy. You can see it in my middle finger the most.

I am not really sure why I love St. Patricks day, I don't have any traditions or anything and we usually dont really celebrate it in my family, but I love it. I think that maybe its because of the rainbows that people associate with it, cuz I LOVE rainbows. Or maybe its just that I have Irish in me. Lol My real dad who I have never met apparently is part Irish, but I am not sure how much. I would love to find him to find out. Do you love St. Patricks Day? Whats your favorite holiday?

Hope you guys ejoyed my post and have a great week! XoLeah

Valentines Day/Anti Valentines Day

Hello lovees!

When I was doing my waterfall mani a few weeks ago, I decided that I was going to give it another try on my other hand with some different colors. I decided that I would try some Valentines colors. I used Hedy's Ma.nish.ma Nuclear Pink for the base. Its dries matte, so I thought doing a whole matte version of the waterfall nails would be cute. So for the lines I used Art Club Duo Pen Red, Art Club Duo Pen Holo Silver, Art Club White. I had originally wanted to try polka dots in Valentines colors, hence my thumb being polka dots. I decided I didn't want to do them all that way, but I was going to keep it. I used the the same base color and same silver, but for the red I used Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Red and the Sally Hansen I <3 Nail Art Pen in White. Since the lines weren't matte finishes, I decided to use My Stash Lacquers Shaken, Not Stirred for my top coat. While doing the top coat, I smudged my thumb. I just left it though cuz I was being lazy. lol

Then a few days later I decided that I wanted to do a Anti Valentines Day mani. I had tried doing Zoya Storm as a base with a red and black Hard Candy polish, but it looked terrible together. lol So instead I did this. I had taken off the first mani and did this one, so the first mani left a mess that I really didn't notice much until I was taking pics. lol So excuse the mess. haha

I got Zoya Storm for Christmas from Panacea. When I had looked at pictures of it in the past I wasn't all that fond of it, but when I tried it I fell in love! Its definitely my favorite black polish now! Such a gorgeous color! Finished the mani off with some hearts in Rock It by Orly. I just love these two colors together, I think they look so gorgeous together!

Nail Fail

Hello beautiful!

So last night I was painting my nails for my post today............ It was a big disappointment. lol I was inspired by two different posts I seen in Lacquer Lane, a new group I am in. Formerly The Polish Swap and Nail Polish Lovers International. They merged. Anyways, Kellie, one of the admins, and friend of mine, had posted a bunch of things in there for inspiration. There were a few I liked, but one in particular that inspired me. A few days later I seen that a girl named Jennifer D. had done the same mani so I was like really inspired to do it. It was a butterfly wing mani.

I just got those I <3 Nail Art pens from Sally Hansen, so I was like I can use the black one for this! Well it didn't work so well. I don't have patience for one, so I smudged a bunch of it, plus I shouldn't have used the nail art pen to do the tips. So I gave up after trying on two nails and decided to try other designs. I screwed up the whole mani and it looked terrible. Btw, I used the Color Club Take Wing collection for the base, minus Metamorphosis. I used Wing Fling, Sparkle & Soar, Sky High, Fly With Me, and Daisy Does It.

I guess in these pics, the butterfly wings don't look all that bad, but in person, they were horrendous! They were all lumpy and messy!

Then I thought, what if I add a glitter top coat, maybe it will hide some of the mistakes. Well the glitter I used was too thick and covered the whole design. haha So I decided to scrap the whole mani and try something else. That turned out to be a bad idea too.

This is also another one I was inspired to do, also from a post Kellie did on the Lacquer Lane page. I wanted to do some red nails with cheetah spots on them. I had never tried cheetah spots, so I thought it might be easy with the nail art pen also.... Nope, I didn't know what I was doing when I was putting the spots on, the gold glitter I was using was the wrong gold to be using because it was going on thick and getting everywhere. Then I kept getting the black from the nail art pen on the sides of my fingers and tried to wipe it and ended up just smudging it everywhere. lol It looks like a 5 year old did my nails. haha I used Red Red by Wet n Wild for the base and Gold Dust Woman for the gold glitter from My Stash Lacquer. Which btw, is an awesome polish on its own. So after a second nail fail, I decided to just stick with a solid color.

I decided that I was going to use a color I hadn't used yet, so I used Precious by LA Girl from the Pop Icon line. Its such a pretty color. I don't know if it had anything to do with taking off and putting on all that polish in a short period of time, or if its just a crappy formula, but it went on really streaky and then dried with a weird texture. I don't think its meant to be textured, but if it is, it didn't texture the entire nail, only patches. After this, I just gave up and left the pink on. haha I will probably try again tonight to see what I can come up with.

I hate it when I have bad nail days. I also wish I was better at nail art. Doesn't help that I am shaky. lol Hope you guys enjoyed laughing at my fails! Have a great week! xoLeah
